SONY MIGHT LAUNCH A VAIO WINDOWS PHONE IN 2014
According to an insider, Sony are apparently considering to launch a Windows Phone device and it might happen as early as mid-2014. No deal has been signed between the company and Microsoft though but if the deal actually goes through, the new Sony Windows Phone will be positioned under the company�s VAIO family which is currently serving Windows-based laptops to consumers.
This particular report is quite interesting to say the least since Sony have been sticking exclusively to Google�s Android for that past few years when it comes to their Xperia smartphones. Then again, it�s not that Sony never had any fling with Microsoft�s smartphone operating system before; considering the fact that Sony Ericsson�s first Xperia smartphone was actually a Windows Mobile device. Not to forget, Sony Ericsson have also came out with Windows Phone 7 prototype codenamed �Jolie� although the device didn�t get to see the light of the day eventually.
